I picked up the red cinnamon hearts at a local country store to season a few jars of apples

 

soaking in lemon juice while peeling

 

3 pints and 6 half pints from the crock pot

On the way to Gordonsville Va. Saturday,  I got a picture of this pretty barn on a hill from the auto.    It is located on route 33  ,  I think in Louisa county at this point but not real sure.     I am  sharing  with  Barn Charm this week where you can see lots more.

Barn in Bedford Va

October of last year Steve and I drove to Bedford Va to sightsee and visit the apple orchard.    The barn pictured is at the crossroads of Penick and Sheep Creek roads.   I took this as we were making our to the orchard.     We will be going again this October also.  Love this area.   Very pretty stone work.

Several Barns in Smithfield Va

Here are several barns on a property I liked.       Steve and I were touring around in Smithfield Va. through a historical area of homes and came upon these barns close together.   I especially liked how the little bit of misty rain made the sky look behind them.

Vanishing structures

One of the things I enjoyed doing when I was visiting  my daughters home in Tn. was to take long rides into the country side .   Such a pleasant day and the beautiful fields planted with tobacco and corn.   About 25 minutes to Kentucky, so much  green grass and little blue flowers. 
  In the landscape, stately standing were beautiful old barns.  Much labor and love it must have taken  to construct one.  Today they are far and few between, vanishing from the countryside.  
My daughter and son in law love to fix up old houses.  I would love to see them fix up an old barn.
