Independence day and a few decorations

July already.  Summer will be over before we know it.

A few decorations for Independence Day.  I didn't put a lot of decoration inside.  Some flags on my mantle in den.   Our flag is out and that is the Main decoration.

Very hot and humid today, can't stay out long. Calling for thunderstorms, I hope we get them.

Out of doors a few windmills in pots and door decoration.

I placed a morning glory in each pot and have some in other pots.  They bloom and I trim them, so they won't wander out into the yard.
my shovel at the patio.  If I see a snake, I am ready.  I don't mind black snakes as much, but I do mind the copperheads.  Either one, stay off my area where I with family congregate.

We took a short drive to Louisa County just to get out for a bit. The town decorated patriotically honoring their hometown heroes.  I love small towns along with their shops and hospitality like this one.

While out in the yard, I picked gladiolus.  I love them.  I just pull the spent blooms off as they die up the stalk and then make the stalk shorter.

Den flags

This is it for now.
Good evening, all

Emerald Isle (pt 2)

Sharing some pictures from our vacation to Emerald Isle N.C.

Up early on a pretty sunny day and the grand girls love waffles for breakfast, so I made them.

Genevieve got a boogie board and had so much fun with it

sunsets were so beautiful

we watched the sun go down
Granddaughter picked this whelk shell right up out of the water along with these beside it.

Youngest granddaughter brought company with her from home.  She loves these dolls.  I don't know what they are called but they are rather cute.

this is all for now.
I have a few more pictures of the aquarium we visited.

Emerald Isle North Carolina vacation (pt 1)

We took a week in Emerald Isle N.C. with Son and family in the town of bogue.

The week zoomed too fast.  Some rain but didn't take away from being at the beach or pool time at the rental house.

There were three levels and from 3rd level the steps to observation deck. It was wonderful and I could feel it slightly sway some when wind was strong.     A great look out to the ocean.  We were set back a street, but the views were not obstructed as the homes were situated in a way to be able to take in views of ocean.  We heard the waves from deck when having coffee in morning and that was so pleasant a sound.

Middle deck

Golden Hour

Beach access was about 100 yards, and we did have a little walk-through sugar sand to get to the beach.  Afternoon walks were the best.  Although we know better than to go into the water at feeding time because of ocean life.
Husband taking off for a walk on the beach.
There were deer
and they liked to walk through the sand at the beach also

We were located at the point and had beautiful views of ocean and inlet especially from the observation deck

I don't know who the author of this quote is. I found it and I like it.

"Theres no place like home. Except the beach"

Dunes and plenty of them
We used the sifter through the sand and found so many shells

Camp Lejeune not too far away.

A few shells that were found while walking the beach one evening.  Like I said earlier, some of these were on the beach sand.  Not hard to find.  Granddaughter Genevieve found bags of them. Adalyn was with her finding them also.
The water was so clear that even standing in up to our waist almost, we could see bottom.
