Few jars of dill pickles canned yesterday. Few more to do today. Didn't get a lot but enough to put up for later.
I layered them first in ice and pickling salt over night and then drained and rinsed well.
Brine - I put in a dill floret from dill I grew alongside the cucumbers and tomatoes. I use my stove downstairs as I am still a little afraid to use a canner on my glass top upstairs. Some do use them but I am just a little leery of it breaking the top right now.
These will be good in the winter months
Meanwhile outside are my giant begonias and this leaf will be a good one for casting in cement. Cannot kill these plants. They love it where they are in the morning sun and afternoon shade.

Betsy, I'd say that is a little more than a few pickles. Don't know how you do it all..Looks yummy..Happy Tuesday..xxoJudy
Those pickles look delicious, yum!
Betsy your pickles look great! I haven't made them in years. I'd love to see how you cast the begonia leaves. That sounds beautiful. Seeing them in magazines has always intrigued me. Have a nice evening!
Betsy,
My mom used to can what she called Bread and Butter pickles...I used to love them but I have not had them in years... Thanks so much for stopping by!! And thanks for answering my questions regarding your knee replacement. It is getting better but it is just a longer road than what I thought it would be...
Hugs,
Debbie

They are very easy to do. Thank you, Betsy
Dearest Betsy,
Oh, I've always canned inside my oven in a water bath and that has worked fine every time.
You are a busy bee.
Hugs,
Mariette
I have heard of canning this way but never got how long or how hot the oven should be.
