Happy Saturday

Much needed rain we received yesterday evening.   Everything looks so much better after it.

What's growing now and looking good so far.
The PeeGee Hydrangea is in the pot and I think I better find a place for it soon.   It's growing fast.
This plant blooms on new wood.

I placed some dill in this pot and it's growing along with petunias

on the fence with cardinal flower on the right side.

This weed - Oxalis.  I call it a weed because it's growing everywhere.  Well I do have other weeds in the yard to keep it company.

I purchased this poly wood chair for Steve for his Birthday.  Watering can hint on the arm

Pulling flowers from my lavender wands to use on cookies or icing on cakes etc.   I  put them in homemade  ice cream.  They are sweeter this way.  Little too strong a flavor when I wait for the whole tip to dry and then take off.  I like the sweetness of the flowers.

Squash I have picked from this plant already and these are almost ready.

short clip of cukes in a bed and containers.   These are pickling cukes. Short and they are coming in fast.

  1. You are growing some lovely things. I'm a big fan of fresh squash from the garden. Your lavender looks great. I like adding a wee bit of lavender when I make shortbread.

  2. Your garden is doing so well, Betsy. I had to laugh when you mentioned weeds. They are in great abundance in my garden too. I love the adirondack chair you bought your husband for his birthday. And your squash looks fabulous. Summertime squash is just the best! Your lavender is beautiful. I have some blooming in a pot on our patio and I must use your hint about when to pick, thank you!

Now there are bird nests and a lot of the trees around our house and our neighbor's...Can you believe our temps. dropped down to 46 this morning!!!It is supposed to do so tomorrow too. Thanks so much for stopping by!!

  7. Hi Betsy. You can sure grow a garden! Love your combinations. Thanks for your visit.Kai is doing well and we had more rain, then more sunshine, then more sunshine, then rain, thunder and lightening. The rain hit the windows so hard, I thought someone was throwing rocks. Today is beautiful again. Go figure..Happy Monday..xxoJudy

  8. Your hard work rewarded with some beautiful flowers and produce from the garden. I like to dry the lavender buds for making lavender bags for my wardrobe.

  9. Dearest Betsy,
    That was a busy-bee post!
So happy you got your much needed rain, the plants, shrubs and trees NEED it.
My parents had big greenhouses full with gherkins (you call them pickling cukes) and I've picked tons of those prickly things, always wearing Dad's old long-sleeved shirts!
    Enjoy this growing season.
    Hugs,
    Mariette
