The Martha Washington Hotel and Spa - located in the Blue Ridge Highlands, In 1832 was originally built for a General, then later became a finishing school for girls. The Martha Washington also served as a hospital during the Civil War.
After the war it was converted into a Womens College. In 1935 it was again changed to a Hotel.
Seeing the Hotel was like stepping back in time to the 18th century. Elegant furnishings, and beautiful chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. Click on pictures to enlarge

Yes, TN is just gorgeous. I've never been farther east that this beautiful state and I hope before long we will make it all the way to the east coast. I'm from California originally so when we travel we usually go west.
