The children brought over their Lego set.  Haven't put one together in ages.  It was fun and once starting to work on it, we couldn't or I should say I couldn't stop putting it together.
The girls 7 and 5 helped a lot as far as getting the pieces that the work book called for as we followed the steps.
I mentioned to them not to dump the three bags of pieces out before we started but that had already been done.

Getting there.  You can see my drying rack on the left as that is where the bathing suits and towels went when they got back from the pool with Opa.

Meanwhile I went out to water the plants again.   The weather is terribly hot.  Today was hitting around 96 degrees.


The hummingbird vine is blooming and growing fast along the fence.

Finished.  There is one missing piece we found after the picture and that is the extra toy box that goes on the bottom.  Ready for the next one.

Sweets for the sweets.

Sunday was the first time I saw the children in two weeks with the flu I had.  So I fixed dinner and they fixed dessert with sponge cups.  Genevieve and Adalyn mixed cream cheese with heavy whipping cream, vanilla and little sugar. 
Spooned into their dessert cups and the strawberries on top, lots of small ones and whipping cream on top.  We only have this once in a while.  Mostly the girls like the strawberries plain.

Today they both went for teeth cleaning.. Genevieve had several baby teeth that were in her mouth good and wouldn't come out to let the others come correctly, so with laughing gas and a few numbing needles - they were pulled to let the permanents come in.  Very stressful for G.V.

Adalyn had a very small hidden cavity in here molar that she will not lose til she is around 12.  Well now work has to be done on that.

No more sugar for a while.  They brush regularly, floss and rinse but still anyway, it happens.
Glad they had a very good time Sunday.

Grands and a good day

A busy day with Genevieve and Adalyn.  First the pool at Carter park in Ashland.

Little Alaina caught the first fish,  she is something else.  Pretty little fish and of course he went back.

I love the look of the wildflowers massed in areas of the yard.   The little petals are perfect in shape and form.  The grand girls love them.

About 9 days ago we took the grand girls to the science museum of Virginia... They love it there.

Here is an age appropriate room from I believe age 2 to 5?  Don't remember correctly but they sure had fun,  this was before both came down with strep and ear infection.

large climbing area.  It reminds me of an ant hotel for some reason.  They cannot fall out and Genevieve should have stayed on bottom... Opa got upset because she went in saying she was too little.

she goes to where she was told not too.  Gets scared to come down.  A sweet little girl helped her down thankfully..  She stayed on the bottom this time.

they are very good children to take places and Steve and I take them anywhere they will be comfortable.   Don't wanna break their spirit by constantly getting on them as he says.

I like this sitting area in the lounge with tables some one fashioned from some type of metal ,  will take a closer look next time.  I want one.

Stopped in Southern Season with the grand girls for a sweet treat.   Adalyn had her eyes set on from the start a  large Easter Egg decorated sugar cookie - she loves her cookies.

Soon there will be few and far between outdoor ice cream days under an umbrella.

I think that they would sit in the snow and eat ice cream,  they love it so much.

I notice here that Adalyn has put her shoes on the wrong feet again.  Funny.




Getting ready for six weeks of dance classes starting next tuesday.
