Summer shots

Mostly pictorial today.  Summer hot as it's expected to be this time of year.  Hopefully more rain will come.

View above from garage with some huge squash plants and tomatoes, some cucumbers.

Plenty of lavender dried

Corner of patio with a pretty dahlia in such a small pot that I should have put in the ground but didn't.

A drive to Williamsburg Va. a few week ends ago to shop and just look around with a stop at Cracker Barrel.  We ordered the Pot Roast supper.  Delicious!
Served piping hot in this little Dutch oven.
Visiting Ruckersville Va.  A nice little place with very friendly people.  We had lunch at a little diner and snapped this picture of this painted building while there.
Playhouse air conditioner so the girls can be cooler in here.  It gets beastly hot. This is much better.
A little insulation would help along with finishing the walls but not at this time.  I kinda like the look of the wood supports.  Now to put the vinyl on the floor.  I have to take everything out and glue it down.  No problem

Good Day All!

  1. I always enjoy looking at your garden, flowers are beautiful and the best kind of welcome in the flag. Everything looks so pretty! I will have to remember that about Cracker Barrel, the pot roast looks delicious! The painted building is a delight. That playhouse for the girls, what a great place it is and will be with all your finishing touches.

    1. I am so glad you do Denise. Do try the Cracker Barrel pot roast stew. It's not a heavy sauce either, just so tasty. Happy Monday, Betsy

  2. Such a pretty yard! I swear I can smell the lavender. We went to Cracker Barrel a few times during the pandemic. I could order online and drive one town away for pickup. Very nice people would come outside and put the dinners in my trunk. The meals were very well packaged and the containers were able to be microwaved. The comfort food they serve lends itself to reheating, too. I would usually order two days worth. We would have meatloaf one day and something else the next. (My husband's favorite is meatloaf).

  3. Oh yes, the meatloaf is delicious! I used to eat at Aunt Sarahs but they closed the only one we had down. They had the best fried chicken. Ordering meals from Cracker Barrel was a good idea. They do have good food. Try this roast beef stew. I would think they all would serve it in these little cast iron pots. Thank you for visiting. Betsy
