Mom visit

Thursday November 15.  A Thanksgiving dinner was prepared by the nursing home.  We had a table for our family and it was nicely decorated for the season..  Four family members could attend. I went with Genevieve. My brother and his wife attended.
Mom ate every bite and was happy to have us there as always.  Wanda and Karl stayed to play scrabble as Mom loves scrabble.  She is very good at it also.  Hard to believe she will be 97 on her birthday this month. Her joints work better than mine.

The table was decorated very nice with festive place settings and candles.
I wish my camera had taken better pictures but I only got one or two.
Thursday was a terrible downpour and my car after running through high water started acting up but it got better, thankfully.

Genevieve going ahead of me

candle decoration

My brother and Mom .  Wished my pictures taken with my cell phone had turned out, but only a few did.

The meal was delicious!

The small creek as we were leaving was full and flowing

It got worse as the day progressed: lots of high water.

Hasn't this been the rainiest year ever? Have a lovely afternoon. ♥

How wonderful you were able to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal with your mom. It looks delicious, too! I wish we lived nearer to my mom who is 91. We will see her at Christmas though. Happy Thanksgivng, Betsy!

Oh, Betsy, I just want to cry. Your mom looks so happy and like she is enjoying the meal. It is so nice that you could visit and eat with her. I remember when my grandma was in a nursing home and then, years, later when Jerry's sister was in the same on, going over to have meals with them. They really loved it. I feel so badly for the ones that seem to have no family. My grandmother had a room mate like that so we would have the two of them over occasionally for a meal. They really enjoyed it and I am so glad we did it. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your beautiful family, my friend..xxoJudy

So lovely that you were able to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal with your Mum, which looked delicious. I loved the centrepiece, simple but so very effective.

Dearest Betsy,
How lovely for having your Mother alive at age 97!
My Dad will be 98 on January 4... He's living on his own still and driving his car.
He gets help cleaning.
Wish they would have set a more festive table with real plates and flatware... That at least makes them feel more loved and at home!
Cute Genevieve and it added to the joy for your Mom!
Hugs and Happy Thanksgiving to you all.
We're being grateful this year for having done so much.
The shower door and glass got installed this morning. The painter is doing touch ups in the hallway.
So happy to finally being able to start cleaning thoroughly and back to normal routine since October 22nd.
Hugs,
Mariette

That sounds lovely. I enjoy scrabble but I am probably not as good as your Mom :)
