I needed a picture because I want to decorate a few like this myself.
Our room at the Holiday Inn express was comfortable, very clean and decorated nicely to.
A picture of Russ who goes everywhere with us.
Back on the road and passing some old barns along the way
Leaves turning some.
Paughs orchard up ahead
A peck is $6.00 and a peck of golden delicious they had bagged was $4.50 a peck. Cannot beat the prices here and the beauty that surrounds it.
two bags of apples
Through Shenandoah to take a look at Shrine Mont - Orkney Springs. Hope to stay a few nights soon.. Nice quiet respite and Steve loves it here.
I posted this place a time back and here is the link where I posted a little history

Homes have the nicest stone walls built around them
pretty flowers growing on the banks of the creek
Large circular bed planting taking looking toward the hotel
Looking towards the lake area
Meanwhile back at the house pulling in driveway. I see the zinnias still going strong.

Dearest Betsy,
What a lovely ride and stay you had!
Love that area and wish the distance would not be that vast...
Enjoy your apples.
Hugs,
Mariette

Dearest Betsy,
Thank you for your comment and below my post I have added 2 more links for more explanation...
So good to see your Zinnias one more time. We used to grow lots of them at our 1st home in Dublin, GA before Campbell's moved us to Pennsylvania...
Hugs,
Mariette
What a joy to visit your blog and see the stunning array of the beautiful colours of Autumn. Loved the swan planters.
Hi There, Oh how we love the Shenandoah Valley area.... We stayed at Skyland Resort on Skyline Drive back in August.... Loved it --and of course, we had to take a drive in the Shendandoah Valley area.... Bet it is even more gorgeous in Autumn...
Thanks for sharing... I love good apples from an orchard like that.
Hugs,
Betsy
Hi Betsy. I have always loved the name Shenandoah Valley. We have a small area off of Highway 49 that they call the Shenandoah Valley. Lots of wineries and beautiful green valleys. I love to take a drive through there. Not for the wine, but the scenery. What a special place to get the apples. There is so much beauty and history back where you live. Cute pumpkins, I have never stayed at a place where they display pretty things in the rooms. Happy Week..xxoJudy
I started singing Country Roads, Take Me Home in my head as soon as I started reading your post! So beautiful in the fall and I can just smell those apples. What a lovely trip.
What a lovely post Betsy ... just right for Autumn.
I really enjoyed seeing all of your pictures, thank you.
All the best Jan
