Virginia Beach Neptune Festival

Had a great few days in Va. Beach,  the Neptune Festival is held annually every September, a grand ending  to the season.   The sandsculptures were just amazing.   The North American sandsculpting championship,  one of the largest of it's kind on the east coast.

It's whats for dinner

I was looking at the wonderful Sunday dinner  "Robin of the Forest " had posted on her blog ,  so I decided to show my dinner tonight.  I am addicted to French onion soup,  I like having soup before a meal,  mom used to serve soup before meals sometimes when we were young.   It' helps me from pigging out too much on the potatoes and meat.  O.k. Robin, here is mine.  Robin by the way is my niece.

French onion soup with crunch crust and cheese.

Pot Roast
Creamy coleslaw
String beans I picked from my vines
Juicy watermelon to finish
I am sooo full, so is hubby.   He is digesting as we speak.  Until tomorrow,  bye.

Dreamy September

Today is a hazy, lazy sort of day for me, looks like it may rain.  Gentle breeze blowing.  I love days like this, gotta take it slow sometime and take in the beauty around me.  I love watching this lil finch, he is so busy with my zinnias,  I plant them just so I can see these pretty birds.    If you click on pictures they will enlarge.

I found today a different color zinnia blooming in the garden .  This was a surprise.
I love this color yellow, so bright.
The hummingbirds  love this vine,  I planted it from one seed in the pot and I never thought it would get this large.
Found these pinecones on the ground, I will make something with these.
