Out early and recorded the video of a few flowers and Hibiscus. I have heard it called Swamp Hibiscus, soil is well drained and it is given plenty of water. I have to spray it with Neem oil to keep the beetles from eating it up. Glad it works for a little while anyway.

Beautiful. Glad that the neem oil is working.
Thank you. Yes it works. Works well keep the worms off of tomatoes. I just don't hit the blooms with it. The bees do not seem to be bothered by it though. They are as busy as ever.
Dearest Betsy,
We both very much love any variety of hibiscus. We got a huge one, similar to yours that produces enormous flowers but they need plenty of water! It is called: Luna White Hibiscus or Rose Mallow - https://mariettesbacktobasics.blogspot.com/2013/08/our-luna-white-hibiscus-or-rose-mallow.html
Our favorite one is the double form of Hibiscus and we got quite a few. On my blog you can type in the word Hibiscus in the search box, top right for finding those exotics.
Hugs,
Mariette
Betsy your video is lovely and quite informative. On the trail we walk everyday there is swamp hibiscus blooming. Thank you for helping me with its name.
Hello Mariette,
I looked at your Mallows and they are exotic. The ones you have I would have to over winter here in zone 7. The Althaea or Hibiscus or as Mom calls it the Rose of Sharon, grows very well here and so does the Swamp Mallow or hibiscus with it's dinner plate size flower. It is so hot here and thankfully we have had late evening thunder showers which has helped cut down on watering. Happy Week end to you, Betsy

I'm loving those morning glories, on the fence!!!!
Betsy, the video is so good! Your flowers are beautiful and the birds sound pretty in the baackground. I bought a hibiscus at Walmart last summer and it bloomed so pretty but then died over the winter. Now I want another one. I've always loved a flower garden along a fence, like yours.
Thank you. I hope I can save the seeds as I ordered them because of their deep purple with almost sunshine bright centers.
Enjoyed the video and I will have to remember the Neem Oil. Thanks Betsy!
Yes, the neem oil is great for a short time to get them off. I just re apply it.
Betsy, the chirping birds in the video sound so pretty and the flowers are beautiful. It is always wonderful to have a beautiful day..Stay well..xxoJudy
Love the video and all of the beautiful flowers. We just saw a bunch of Hibiscus bushes in bloom at Biltmore this week. SO pretty... The flowers bring me so much joy as we go through this pandemic (which never seems to end).
Thanks for the SMILE today.
Have a great week.
Hugs,
Betsy
