Yard

A walk around the yard in the cold.   Now, at 3:00 it's 36 F.
Daffodils finally starting to bud.   Leaves to be raked and other much needed yard work to be done.  Now just a few more days of sunshine and will be dry enough to do it.
I hope that with all the rain, some moles have gone to mole heaven.  They are little monsters and do  a number in killing roots to all the plants I try to keep alive.

I cut the lilac way back and even though it will take some seasons to bloom again, it was way to large for this area.  I will try to move it later this year.

Hydrangea that needs transplanting for way too long.

box that needs trimming.

Took a few limbs off of the Forsythia and put them in water to see if they will bloom for me inside.

That's it for today.  Have a good one.

  1. Betsy, I used to love forcing forsythia. We don't have it any longer. I bet your's will be pretty. It's so cold this week it hardly feels as if Spring is around the corner. I really should cut my lilacs back as they have become quite large. Hopefully we will all be able to get out and enjoy Spring soon. Stay warm and cozy in the mean time. xo

  2. Not a lot going on in the garden at the moment, we are still working on the outbuilding.

  3. Dearest Betsy,
Guess we're through with the final frost here in our area. It is sunny and warming up.
You mention after all the rain but where you walk in that video it is crackling dry!
Yesterday we both biked and it was lovely.
Enjoy the budding of daffodils and for bringing them indoors.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

    1. I should have taken a picture of my feet sinking in the soil as I walked across the leaves. I am hoping this is the last of them falling from the trees, because we are so done with getting them up.

    2. Haha, I believe you!
As for not being able to respond to my comments, you might be right as my comments no longer reveal my email address. Had to change this for many reasons. In the past I've emailed you a few times but never heard back...

  4. I'm also eagerly waiting to start gardening. This weekend I've plan, but it is going to rain tomorrow.
