Sunday Drive

Such pleasant weather this past Sunday got us out for a short drive to Gordonsville Virginia.   One of our favorite eateries is here and it's called the Barbeque exchange.  Great food and it's Steve's go to Barbeque place.
Walking the town and window shopping as I like to do on a Sunday in small towns.  Maybe 3 or 4 shops were open but that's o.k., we enjoy window shopping on days like this. I will be back to do some Christmas shopping.  Some things in one of the windows caught my eye.
The French restaurant called Pomme as you see on the sign above was closed.   Will have to dine here sometime.
A peek inside the window of one of the tables set for dining.

Here is a shop with some childrens toys.

Boxes of flowers on the sidewalks

closer shot

I think they look pretty good for fake flowers and they keep their color

fence with a planter and these are real

I like these pink planters and I think I will be changing the color of mine to this color.

A string pulled up so the vine can grow up along side the window

Nice tub of succulents

Pretty decorative painting around this shop

 another shop painted decoratively

Nicely framed print.

I would really love to have these sections of fence.  Just don't see these around many places for purchase.

across the street is this pretty little park area

We sit a spell before heading home

Pleasant sound of water trickling at this fountain

Happy Tuesday

I hope you do get to go. Go on a Tuesday to make sure most shops are open. I love the Alpaca shop. They have some gorgeous clothing.

Gordonsville is a great small town that we enjoy as well. We have never eaten at the BBQ place, but we have eaten at Pomme. We enjoyed it very much. We'll have to try the BBQ place next time. There is a great little antique shop there. At least it was the last time we stopped there. I love seeing all the flowers and the stone statue is exquisite. Looks like a perfect spot to enjoy a Sunday afternoon drive. ♥

Dearest Betsy,
That is lovely on a Sunday for strolling around and window shopping.
Wish I had contact with the shop owner of the fake flowers.
Our beautiful fiberglass window boxes cost us a fortune for replacing plants ongoing.
Climate here is too harsh, too hot...
Yesterday I was talking about taking them down; a pity as we got 3 of 8 ft length along the driveway on the retainer wall and also alongside the veranda and the bay windwo area. That's a lot of window boxes!
IF you happen to know the shop that was at, please let me know!
Sending you hugs,
Mariette

Nice shots! I love the painted decorations. I've been to Gordonsville a few times to go to the Exchange Hotel (museum).

You took us on a lovely tour of this very pretty town. Some of the planters were stunning and the painting around the windows a joy to see.

I would love to stroll around this beautiful town! All of that beautiful old brickwork and architectural elements! And I would love to be in a truck when I visited it and haul home that amazing piece of fence.
