It's Independence Day!

We celebrated Independence day with a parade.   Had a great time!  Of course we had icees, a must as far as the children are concerned.  Can't take in a parade without one. Miranda treated us to burgers and fresh squeezed lemonade.  Nice to be out even in the heat.
Few shots of the morning.

Front row seats

Basset hound brigade

The band played patriotic songs.  Each branch of the armed services were honored with it's own service song.    For Steve  "The Army Goes Rolling Along"

Adalyn and Genevieve looking from the inside of the Arts and Activities center.  This center was the original Ashland Baptist church.  Interesting history of it is found Here

My little camera hounds.  Check out how Adalyn is holding that knee for her pose.

On our way back to the car after the parade I took a few shots of some the fine homes in Ashland

Most definitely time for a rest after a busy morning.

I almost forgot and had to come back to add my wreath to this post.
Happy Independence Day!

Happy 4th, Betsy. The girls look so cute in the caps and knee posing! Sounds like you had a wonderful 4th. Just leaving to hit Jerry's favorite turkey sandwich at Jack's and then on to the new Home Goods for guess who? xxoJudy

Hi Betsy,

Love the parade and the wonderful, old homes!! I noticed the railroad tracks; I wish we still lived where we could hear the train every week. I still miss that sound after 22 years. :) Your grands are so cute and really growing up. I hope you all have a wonderful Fourth of July!!

Hugs,
