Baby blanket

When my daughter came for a visit about a month ago.   She wanted us to make a baby quilt together.  Well there wasn't enough time in a week end to do one by hand.   I prefer doing them that way so she picked up some squares of fabric.   She measured them and we both cut them out and I sewed together on the machine.   I machine quilted on the machine also.

I am holding it here.  She wanted a picture before she left and I hate to take pictures anyway.  It is so worse  taking them in a hurry without a chance to fix my hair even and not stand in front of a wreath on the door that makes it look like something is in my hair.

Here is a dress Annette wore home from the hospital.  She wanted to take it home, so we washed it and she fixed the ribbon. It's 48 years old and in good shape.  Made in Italy.

Haven't heard if they got the blanket yet but I hope I see a picture soon. 

Oh,  the blanket and the dress is for our great grand daughter,  yes a great grandma I am.  Seth is only 19 and in college and Haley is 19.  But they are taking good care of their baby and who knows, it may be a love that lasts a lifetime.  I am praying.   I am hoping for a picture of the baby with the blanket.  I would hope so.  

Annette and John are in Michigan.  Hope they stay in close to home.

Happy Sunday with Annette

Had a great breakfast this morning for starters.  My daughter Annette brought us some tomatoes and some fruit picked from her garden.  A nap was in order early because of a large breakfast including some fried orange and red tomatoes.  I don't particularly like them green.

beef steak -  spots are from heat and watering and growth spurt, kinda like a stretch mark.   stretches and seals itself.

beef steaks that are grown further up the stem.  The biggest growth is at bottom and then each layer up the stalk - the tomatoes get a little smaller because at the top of the stem it's weakest and doesn't hold a large tomato.  Nature is amazing isn't it?

the apple from her tree is like a mix of golden delicious and red delicious.  Trees are 50 plus years old.   Annette stopped counting rings on one limb cut at 75 years.

peaches,  the limbs next year must be cut because she has many broken limbs from so many peaches.  These are white peaches.  To me these taste between a juicy pear and peach.

A twist

I like the colors

My daughter is visiting in Fountain Colorado to  be in her very good friend's wedding.  The ladies in the wedding party had dinner.   They also the same evening for fun in Colorado Springs, Co. at the studio "Painting with a twist"  created some artwork .   Annette said it was so much fun getting together and creating.  I will have to look for a studio around here like this,  see what I can create and have a get together with friends at the same time.
I am sure she is loving it there as she used to live there when her husband was stationed in Fort Carson.  I miss visiting Colorado too.

Birthday Girl!!!

Happy Birthday Annette!!
My daughter who is 44 and sweet as can be.
Didn't get to see her as she lives in West Virginia and has her farm she started a year ago.   I do love getting the eggs for sure and good meat that they raise.
