A trip to local pumpkin patch with G.V. She got a large pumpkin for Opa to carry and a smaller one.
My knee is not too great, so I stayed back because this ride didn't have steps that pull down like others I have been to. I decided over a foot up was too high a step right now.
Genevieve with her pumpkins
She went way out in the field because she spotted the bigger one and of course Opa fetched it and carried it back for her
I was so happy to have found black eye peas at our local farmer's market. I love these green, I do not like them dried.
This was part way through shelling. At a $1.99 a lb. I got quite a few.
I remember Mama picking these and bringing them in on the porch to shell. I didn't like shelling these so much as a child but didn't mind the lima beans or butter beans.
In the freezer to have January 1st. 2026 for good luck. I believe we make our own luck mostly with prayer. This is a quart bag and it's stuffed.
Afternoon shadows
Hilly fields of grasses and goldenrod
Looks like a pretty day in the mountain area but it's not in the mountains.
We had to make a run to our landfill or dump as I usually call it for large limbs cut from yard tree. Really pretty and love the golden rod that grows here along with sweet Annie and other field grasses.
That's it for now
Later

We haven't been pumpkin picking this year, since we grew our own, but I do miss seeing the kids in the field. It's such a great harbinger of all the fun holidays to come!!
