Recent ride to Waynesboro the last week in July just to get out and see some pretty Va. countryside. We took the back roads this time for easy on the eyes scenery. Hardly any traffic.
A ride through Fork Union, an unincorporated community in Fluvanna county.
Fork Union is one of the leading U.S. college preparatory military boarding schools for boys 7 - 12 grade.
Black eyed Susan growing along a wall in Scottsville Va.
Lunch in Waynesboro at the Red River Burger Bar
Lighter fare is served but not having breakfast and lunch, since this was after two o'clock, we were hungry. No dinner for us later. Just a small snack.
First, Spring rolls with a snappy little sauce drizzled on top.
Oh yes, we brought half of it home. Delicious food. Made to order.
Upon leaving the area and noticing the hanging pots from the street lights. Very pretty.
Back at home, the Crepe Myrtles are blooming really well this year. They have never bloomed this pretty. The color is even darker. Maybe they like the dry, hotter days we have had this Summer.
A few days ago we cooked Salmon on the grill, served with fresh salsa. Really enjoying cooking on the Green Egg, ours is the mini max. Plenty big for us.

What a wonderful summer day trip! The flowers are all so lovely, especially the brown eyed Susans! But gosh, all that food is making my mouth water! I would love a taste of everything. It looks like a fun restaurant to visit. The salmon looks delicious!
Thank you Miss Merry for visiting. Ah yes, the restaurant is fun to visit. Very nice people, our server was wonderful. Very nice comfortable atmosphere. Vintage tin ceilings, brick walls. I like the industrial look of the place and how they preserved it.
Dearest Betsy,
That no doubt was a fabulous outing and that military academy is quite interesting.
The food looks inviting and when hungry, that's perfect.
Here the crepe myrtle also look full and healthy.
Hugs,
Mariette
