Finished my rods on porch finally. I purchased conduit pipe and some large cup hooks to hang them by. Much cheaper than purchasing metal curtain rods. I just wanted something easy to go up and this was. I purchased the little caps for the ends and to that I got a deal on Styrofoam balls, sprayed them silver, then gouged the center out to put the cap ends into.

Dearest Betsy,
Those conduit pipes were a very clever idea!
Very sheer curtains but guess they do what you intended to use them for.
We got zero curtains in our home...

Mariette
Betsy, you are a clever lady. I would never have known how you did it if you hadn't told. Looks just like a perfect set up. The softness of the light that comes in looks so pretty through the curtains. Just what you would want on a porch and finishes it off perfectly. I might try something similar on mine for next year..Happy Summer..xxoJudy
I love the curtain rods! Very pretty. I hung curtains on my back porch with some old tension rods. They were not strong enough to stay balanced, so I used cup holders in the corners and they work just fine.
Thank you Miss Merry. I was thinking about tension in between the brick but decided to use the cup hooks at ceiling. Cup hooks come in good for lots of things for sure.
Thanks Judy and as I mentioned earlier it does help keep out the hot morning sun. Happy Summer to you and it will be freezing before ya know it. Hugs, Betsy
Happy Monday to you Mariette, I should have sprayed the pipes a color but this porch is used by the children and I do my sewing and crafts on it. Curtains help filter out the hot morning sun. Hugs Betsy
You certainly managed to do that! 💯
Aren't you smart? I love your ingenuity, Betsy! Have a great week.
Bets,
So pretty and what a great idea!!Love how the curtains look...I have curtains and shades on my windows that get pulled down as soon as it gets dark because twice i had someone looking in my windows...Once when I was a teenager and then when I got married and had a creepy neighbor!! Thanks so much for stopping by!! I hope you enjoyed your time at the beach!!
Hugs,
Debbie
I'm impressed! Your rods and curtains look wonderful!
Thank you Denise.
Most times we can find easier ways of doing things and getting what we like even better then what we can purchase. Nice job.
Thank you Pam. less hassle getting it done sometimes.
