What a Beautiful Day of

Sunshine! I am enjoying it while I have it because this weekend... MORE RAIN in the forecast.  Who'd a guessed it?  I am wondering if we will have a hot dry summer because of this?  Last year the beetles ate up everything.

A trip to Sherwin Williams for ceiling paint. I am prepping bedroom for a much need paint job.  With the way I am feeling lately,  I am guessing I will finish it in about two months.  Geesh, I hope it's a lot sooner than that!
Not advertising or anything like it,   but this is the best ceiling paint. I won't use anything else.  Does not drip like many others I have used.

Back to sunshine, I found these roses from Valentines day sale at Walmart for $3.97 I believe it was.  I couldn't pass them up.  They are just beautiful and the clay pot is worth that.   Will plant when weather is warmer.  Right now they are on the jalousied porch getting used to some cooler weather and it's much better than the heat inside for them.

More Dahlias to plant.
Roses,  a store near me had these blue ceramic pots ( I am guessing ceramic) they are very heavy and I have better luck in this type of pot and not so much the plastic pots.

Couldn't pass up these I found at Pier One.

Yes, I like my blue flower.  My Mother had this sitting on her table at Christmas one year with some Christmas balls and lights.

Blue just seems to suit the weather we were having last week.
The blue day book was given to me and there are many cute little animal pics and some sayings to go along with them.

Like this one

Finished several of these beaded flowers a few weeks ago.  The reason I am sharing this one is because I found it on the mantle.  Will be beading leaves to go with them for a little pot.

Happy Monday, well at least what's left of it.  Time is flying.

Rain anyone?

I took this yesterday and it's flowing good in the side yard little creek area. Nice to listen to as I mired down a few inches or more in the over drenched yard to take a video

I think I would rather see snow.

Visited Mom at nursing home last week sporting a new hairdo.
Looking good

Today it snows

Tomorrow will be in the 60's.  No wonder we keep getting these sniffles.
I do like snow though.
It's a little icy now in the yard

A short clip from front door.  Not ready to venture out.
Will be getting into the 60's tomorrow evening and then of course droppin back down.. I like winter a lot better than hot hot summer.

I don't think several boxwoods in the front will make it this year.  They are turning orange in some places. I guess it's from so much moisture.
If anyone knows what I can do to save them, please tell me.  I hate losing them.

Little icy rain coming down so I think I will take a rest on the bed with a book.

Beach in Winter

A week ago few days after our Anniversary, we stayed at Virginia beach.   Relaxing on the 8th floor, the ocean sounds were loud and clear.  I sleep so well when I hear the waves crash.
It was nice on the Thursday we went and people were in shorts,  the next day it was coats and hats.  The days go from warm to cold.
Sun shining bright right  before the Hampton Bridge Tunnel

Loved the comfortable suite we had

sunrise from my balcony

Wonderful view  later in the day

I like the wall treatment

In the lobby area are these painted mason jar lights

breakfast at the bistro downstairs

Mine was the plain yogurt with honey and fruit plus granola
Steve had french toast of banana bread, syrup, sliced bananas and walnuts.  The picture I took of his didn't turn out for some reason.

After breakfast,  a walk on the beach

A happy Valentines Day

Had a great day yesterday.  Their sweet mama brought the grands over and they brought these sweet cupcakes.  Genevieve made sure she let us know she made them.  She wanted to let us know also that  her mama put them in the box.  She said she is gonna be a baker one day and have a bakeshop..

Adalyn had a hand in it too.

She and Genevieve made us a heart shaped house.  so sweet.
A sweet valentine Adalyn made.

A sweet card from Steve and candy we will share.

And Roses

I got up early at 6 a.m. - left at 7 to get  Steve Dunkin donuts in heart shapes.   Apple and the other three were lemon filled. He enjoyed all 6.

Til next time

Supposed to be in the 30's tomorrow after being in the 60's today.  I hope it snows.

Happy Monday

At 5:30 this morning all is quiet.  I like the peace at this time of day.
Breakfast of oatmeal, walnuts, blueberries and raspberries.   Frozen fruit but still good.
A little nutmeg sprinkled on  frothed milk for my coffee.

Temps are warming gradually this morning

Will get outside and get some planting areas cleaned up a little.  I don't think this will last long.

might just order this magazine while I am sitting here.  Would love to have the shed on the cover.

Soup for the Bowl tonight

Husband wanted it while he watched the game.
I browned in flour the meat and then to the drippings I added merlot to burn off what was in the pan.  I like doing this as it gives a good flavor and the kids can eat it because the wine is burned off, after that a little water and added it to the pot of a can of mixed veggies plus a can of potatoes.  I didn't have a lot of time to make it all fresh as it was a last minute thing.

Good rich color I think.
noodles, bay leaf, basil, lil salt, tad bit of sugar, kidney beans, large jar of my daughters homemade tomato juice and my dried red and yellow tomatoes along with dried red peppers from my garden last year.

Oh, yes, oven baked cheese sandwich.  Buttered both sides the bread and lined my baking pan with parchment. It turned out very tasty with just a little crunch.
