In the pink

Mom had a fall and broke her upper arm bone literally in half on the worst snowfall day of the year which was last Saturday.   A ride by ambulance to the emergency room was taken.   Her appointment with the Ortho. doc was not til yesterday the 29th.    On Thursay the 28th , the night before she was taken  by my sister Donna  with severe UTI in which she was very weak from not eating because of nausea.

What a difference a night of medication makes. She was in very good spirits Friday.    Donna, I and the two grand girls took  her to the Orthopedic doctor ,  she actually enjoyed the get together.   She is 94 and is one strong lady,
She will have a clam shell cast put on her arm tuesday after swelling has lessened.   She does not want an operationa and neither do any of us as,  at 94 it would be a little too dangerous.

Great grandma and great grandchildren.    Genevieve wouldn't get to close because she was scared of mama's arm being hurt.   She kept watch from a distance.
We hope to get by to visit her tomorrow or Monday,  hopefully tomorrow.

Feeling like the words of Marilyn Monroe today--

"Imperfection is beauty,  madness is genius, and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring".

Gotta have fun and live life while we have it and be thankful.

Today I am wearing  my pretty pin and M.M. chiffon scarf given to me by my friend Jennifer,  we have know each other since we were 13 years old.

The pin is a little fuzzy but still pretty and the grape necklace next is a very old vintage piece.

Office visit

Adalyn on a visit with us to Opas office at Christmas time after seeing the pretty Christmas lights downtown.
She enjoyed sitting at the desk in an Itech hat with a football.   We had to tell her it was time to go home in order for her to remove herself from the chair.  She seems to really enjoy an office invironment.

Deep in thought here

This barometer thingy is something she was fixated on

She did find the candy and that certainly put a smile on her face

The Thinker

Much of his work presented in North America for the first time

The hand of God

From rough matter made by the original Creator comes smooth bodies of a man and a woman

The Cathedral

So much more we took in including never before exhibited photographs.

I am - so back

Finally got back onto my blogs.   I messed up somewhere or another with my passwords and gosh knows what else.  My husband worked it out with google help forum.   Tech was very helpful.   Got the answers to the problem that was needed - whew thought I would have to lose my stuff,  now back to saving what I have posted in the past.

winter mantle

I took Santas down and left some of the bones for a winter feel on the mantle.  We are not having much of a winter here so far.   I love winter and this is probably as close to feeling it , it seems.
Now with that said,  a monster will probably move through and dump tons of snow.

Steve especially loves Owls.   I have seen one sitting up in the tree when I occasionally walk the neighborhood in the late evening.   He watches very carefully as I walk by.

First seen in the Virginia colonies was the great horned owl.  Strong with prominent ear tufts also known as Hoot Owls, Cat Owls and Winged Tigers.
Wild Owls usually live up to 13 years in the wild, captivity to  38 years.

love this store

About 8 miles away but it's where I go often.
Loved this store in Germany,  quiet, clean, reasonable and fine personel who work here.   Love it here at Christmas - got my stollen , yummmm.   Chocolate Santas made in Germany,  products I looked for.

You can use a basket for a quarter and your quarter is returned when you return the basket.

Bring your own bags or buy them there for very little and bag yourself - hey it keeps cost down.

Colonial Beach Virginia

January 3, Steve and I walked the beach in Colonial Beach looking for drift wood and some times I find little shards of sea glass and pretty rocks.
It was calm, no wind and sun hitting us as we walked,  felt good.
