Wednesday

A day off from rain,  but not to worry as there is more coming again tomorrow.   It has rained off and on for the past few days.   I venture out  to sweep the dirt and green stuff that is growing between the bricks on the porch.  Yucky stuff.

Behind the yellow door to  the outside.

perked up my wreath a little

Someone somewhere must have something to harvest, not I.   If the moles didn't destroy it,  the rain sure did.

Mums in the pot look very healthy

That  little bird peeking out behind the planter seems to follow me everywhere.

Color starting to show here.

This area will be filled with leaves and acorns before long.  I may cover with plastic to make the raking  easier.

Quote taken from BrainyQuote.com

Look at the bark of a redwood,  and you see moss.
If you peer beneathe the bits and pieces of the moss, you'll see toads, small insects, a whole host of life that prospers in that miniature environment.  A lumberman will look at a forest and see many board of lumber. I see a living city.

I really do not like this city in my yard.

early walk

Time  to start pulling spent plants and setting some bulbs.  I will place my bulbs in protection in the ground so at least a few tulips may survive the jaws of moles and voles.

This morning walking with my coffee before I start back painting the brick on my porch.

Soon there will be few and far between outdoor ice cream days under an umbrella.

I think that they would sit in the snow and eat ice cream,  they love it so much.

I notice here that Adalyn has put her shoes on the wrong feet again.  Funny.

Getting ready for six weeks of dance classes starting next tuesday.

Amelia courthouse shop

Back to visit a shop in Amelia courthouse Va. - Classic Touches.   All dressed out for Fall and Halloween.    We never leave here without purchasing something.  I want everything!
Sometimes I have a guest or two I would love to send here for the night.  I am sure they have felt the same about me also.   I think it's cute.

I couldn't get with my camera the way the eyes were painted on him,  they seemed to follow me.

this cozy room had a sofa and t.v. .  I see the candle in the corner is being heated by the light above it.  I've not seen this before, but like this idea.
