Happy Sunday

For starters this rainy Sunday morning I made beignets to have with coffee, they were warm and good.

A good book read about Woolworths five and dime.  Good memories of this store in downtown Richmond with my grandma.  Eating Spaghetti at the counter and the shopping for fun trinkets.

I think the weather is going to stay warm now.   Some days this past week were in 80's and 90's.   Husband got the garden area all free of weeds, added dirt and ready for planting.

We were discussing after this season to take up the side walk blocks  and having a walkway thru the middle and place planters so we do not have to bend down to work on or plant.

I think this azalea loved the trimming back.  It is putting on a show right now.

This flower from an azalea that is my favorite.

The one below after three years of moving this one to where it is now.  They grow so fast.

plants for the pots

Peonies

these will be moved after this season bloom
I am not going to ever plant anything ever again under a holly tree.  Those spikey leaves even with good gloves made for unpleasant weeding.

Granddaddy's beard blooming and scents the whole back yard area

Azaleas last about a week for me in a vase

We have had some beautiful sunsets lately
I just noticed to the right of the picture what looks to be a cross or angel in flight watching over me. Guiding me home safely.

Some gorgeous cloud cover too

The sun has come out and now I have no excuse not to get planting.
I actually was hoping for rain all day.

I purchased this jam and I think it will be good baked on a pork loin.  I will have to try that.

Good day everyone!
