Whats growing

Mostly just photos of what is growing in yard.  Spring flowers sure go out fast.  Azalea didn't seem to have a long blooming season like in seasons past.  Blooms just didn't last long.

My peonies now are mostly full bloom.

for my table

I will be moving these this season as it's too hard to keep the holly leaves out.  No fun weeding and getting poked by those leaves.
Tried to get out this queen Annes lace but not successful.  I would never plant them in a regular flower garden.  They act like weeds

Volunteer dogwoods coming up in flower beds. Will cut this one out.

I left this red hydrangea in pot.  Supposed to have continuous bloom.
                                                            Mock orange starting to bloom

The field at the end of our road
I hope it stays a farm.

Lunch at the Hanover Tavern and afterwards on way to our car, a quick look at the front courtyard.

Simple but lush plantings of plants I should be growing to fill in areas, so I won't have to weed as much.

Got some seeds planted

I am growing patio tomatoes in pots on my patio

Two books I purchased for my sister to read
I I think I will have to purchase one for me.  Especially the Haunted Richmond

I am looking at some places I have still got to visit myself I found in this book

That's it for now

  1. Your landscaping is spectacular! So beautiful. And your dining room takes my breath away!
Those books are my cup of tea! Most years I go to a state geneology conference and my first vendor stop is the book table. Those titles look great!

    1. Thank you so much Miss Merry. I try to keep our dining area uncluttered but sometimes I do a lot of art stuff in there, oh heck it's where we live. I am glad you liked it.
Genealogy conference sounds so interesting. I would be at the book table too.

  2. My azaleas bloomed beautifully but faded fast too. I love your traditional dining room! The peonies are gorgeous and I bet your tomatoes will grow great. You live in a beautiful place, so glad you enjoy exploring and taking me along. Bet that lunch was good. Happy day. xx, Virginia

    1. The lunch is always fresh ingredients, and my favorite is the homemade mushroom soup. Pimento bacon sandwich toasted is so good too. Thank you for visiting and compliments. I appreciate that. Happy day to you, Betsy

  3. I'm so jealous. The only thing blooming in our yard is daffodils and crocuses. We don't even have pansies yet! It's so funny how the country comes alive in waves!!

    1. It's something how we are almost over blooming, but you have it to look forward to.
