Few Easter decorations

A few pictures of some decorating. Not a lot but enough.  It's been very crazy weather here as far as being very warm then turning very chilly and in the 30's at night.

Easter is earlier this year, so I didn't get a lot of plants in the ground. They are mostly in pots on the porch.

I do have some volunteer tulips coming up and some that I planted in pots in the ground in fall.  That is the only way I can have them from the moles or voles.

This past Saturday we woke up to lots of rain.  It looked like this, our side yard.

I do believe the slash should be dug out more.  It never comes over the driveway but still I want it dug deeper.

  Like an island

Back to decorations
I made two Easter egg trees.  Tacky glue to two Styrofoam cones.  Then I rolled them in moss from the store.   I cut in half plastic eggs from Hobby Lobby and glued to moss.

Here they are finished.   I put them in little clay pots that I purchased from a local shop, and they are made in Italy.  I like Italian made pots as they hold up, especially for outside. I have some that are heavy and are 10 years old.

I had this little tree that lights forever it seems.  I took some colorful eggs or foam balls and stuck on the ends.  The little picture is one of dried flowers from my yard that I pressed and framed.

Foyer

Purchased glass egg that I placed a bunny and a garden sign in

That is it for now.  I hope to make some Easter bread or something like it.
til next time

  1. Dearest Betsy,
You have such a lovely brick home!
Oh, on March 9 we had another water problem. Our middle bridge across the creek got destroyed... It is so hard to deal with the elements of nature. Pieter is getting too frail and weak for such work so we forget about it.
Also had to run the wet vacs for the downstairs tile floors.
The contractor in 1990 left tree trunks under the foundation... while we worked and lived in Indonesia. Later when Pieter dug out the 60 tons for the Rose Suite he found out—too late as there is nothing we can do about it now.
Your home looks ready for Holy Week and Easter!
    Hugs,
    Mariette

    1. Good morning, Mariette, well it's almost evening now I see. The elements of nature, well I am thinking I am not wanting to fight it too much longer. Just let it be.
You would think a contractor would know better than to not grind out trunks from foundation. My friend loved his maples so much in his previous home that he did not heed the warning to take them out and had roots run under foundation through piping in kitchen, well it costs him to take care of that mess. Costs enough to take those trees out too. I am so sorry to hear about that water in your downstairs. So glad that wet vacs can get it out. Blessed Holy Week, Betsy

  2. Everything looks so good. I don't put out a lot of Easter stuff, basically I just have decor on my front door. I used to go all out for all the holidays but the older I get the harder it is to get that stuff out and put back up. But yours looks really nice.

    1. I am doing less Pam. Getting up the attic steps, well I am doing less of that. I like a few decorations but not overly done. Yes indeed it's getting less and less here. Thank you for visiting.

  3. Your home is looking so nice for Easter, Betsy. Your crafts are lovely--I particularly like your new trees you made. Boy was that rain something on Saturday! Walking around town we saw many overflows in folks yards! I really like your wreath on the lamp post! Have a wonderful Easter.

  4. Oh I love your egg topiaries. Every year I tell myself I'm going to make them and, of course, I never get to it. This year, Easter popped up so quickly I didn't have time to decorate much. Your place looks lovely. Happy Easter! PS- we had that same lake in our yard from the rain..it was crazy!
