Days of fall

I took the following pictures last week.

Leaves on the tall oaks are turning - finally

I think that blowing them into the woods is a better idea

looking through the boxwoods on front steps

Last of the vivid orange zinnias.  I will plant many more of them next year.   They seem to do the best here as far as growth and color.

Nasturtiums love the cooler weather

And I love them in a salad

Til next time - Happy Sunday everyone

Acorns anyone?

  1. Hi Betsy, nice to see your fall colors. Look at those nasturtiums, how pretty! Love the vintage store tour and the Halloween fun too in your earlier posts.

  3. Your oaks are beautiful, Betsy. We don't have too many oaks around here, mostly pine and cedar. We had lots of oaks when we lived in the bay area but they don't change to those pretty colors down there. Love the zinnias and nasturtiums. I plan on planting those next year..Happy Sunday..Judy

  5. Betsy, thank you so much for your comment on my blog about my mom. I am sorry to hear you have been through much the same with your mother, too. It brought tears to my eyes to have you tell me I'm a good daughter. Some days I don't feel like a good daughter, if you know what I mean. I know I shouldn't wish things were different, but I do. I'm glad your mom is in a safe environment now; it must be a relief. And don't feel guilty for not having her in your home; I don't know what we will do when her health worsens. I have no idea of what I'm capable of as far as more advanced care is concerned, and I hate to admit, I'm a coward at times. Thank you again for your words of encouragement, they mean so much. Hugs to you, Betsy.

  6. I certainly can see the difference between northern fall gardens and southern fall gardens by reading this post. We're weeks ahead of you here in Northeast Oregon. Your flowers are just gorgeous. I'm looking forward to next spring when we'll see green and flowers again. :) ~ Nancy
