Colonial Beach visit sidewalk art sale

Steve and I drove to Colonial Beach Va. for the sidewalk Art sale on Saturday.  Such a gorgeous day with the prettiest sky and billowy white cloud formations.

Ever changing here it seems with many improvements.  The free municipal parking lot has been paved and a new mural on building in front of lot.

The old River View inn is being renovated - seen in the distance

  New paint job looks good.

I did like how the tissue box was decorated with shells and carved birds

We purchased several hand made christmas ornaments like the oyster shell santa.

Purchased decorated jars for the bathroom
Unique, decorated nicely and very useful.

Very good icees.  These were not sickly sweet and tart.  A bargain on a hot day for just  $1.00.  Of course Steve had to have one - two.

I thought this was the cutest crab pot ornament to add to my collection.

Watching the fog lift off Peters Mountain

Today early with the drizzle got me thinking about the morning two weeks ago at my daughters house where I got up very early and watched the fog lift off Peters Mountain in West Virginia.   

Hot cup of coffee and porch swing felt great at 6:00 a.m. 

Every morning is like this I am told

A cement dalmation and cement pot Annette and John rescued from the side of the road and painted.

John hollowoed out a tree and planted flowers

Annette got rid of all of her chickens - but this is her neighbor's chicken who makes her way every morning to the hen house still on the property and leaves fresh eggs.  She just likes their hen house better I guess.

Trees Be Gone

Yes, I am so glad the Hemlock and the tall pine are gone especially from the rear yard.   I love these trees for their Christmas boughs I have used in the past years but the trees blocked too much light and made it damp and mildewy in the back yard.

Tree coming in driveway which is a hemlock will be trimmed
Holly next to it also.   May have to eventually take the whole thing out, limbs growing in power lines is not a safe thing to let happen.

Experience tree service and Arborists with the right stuff taking out and
trimming our trees.  Elliotts tree service by the way and I want to give them
a big thumbs up for this work.  We are very happy with the work done.

A look from dining room window into very shady back yard that was way too
shady and dark for me.  Needed light and breeze.  Got rid of bad bees nest too.

I enjoyed watching them cleaning up the cut limbs with the bucket grabbing them over the fence

can see the weeping willow much better now with the huge holly gone.

Still drizzly out and will have to post the after picture of the tall lonesome pine
that has since been removed.
