What's in bloom and sharing while it lasts.

Happy Saturday.  Will be out in the little garden area spreading good dirt and fertilizer. Some plants go in tomorrow.

Some shots of our largest Azaleas in bloom

Up close
it's looks like an orchid to me. I can't help but notice how the little spots on flower are lined up. So delicate looking and perfect.

Grand daddy's beard as mama always calls it, Fringe tree to most shown here behind azalea
My spring flowers and trees bloom in succession.  First the forsythia then the dogwoods with some early azaleas, then later azaleas with the fringe tree.

Fringe tree is highly fragrant especially in the afternoon.

Mostly porch sitting these days after working outside.  I need to get to work inside.  I rather be out most days.  Will be needing to throw out this furniture before long.  It has been outdoors and indoors off and on for 18 years.  It's not real, it's plastic and now it's breaking, not sure what I will put out here next.  I would love to replace the jalousie windows but not anytime soon.
This used to be just a cement floor showing.  We decided on having tile put down about 10 years ago.

Blueberry salad I am finishing up.   I love this stuff.
It is Grape Jello, blueberry pie filling (Comstock) pineapple crushed canned.
Topping sour cream, confectioner sugar and cream cheese.  Don't know why it's called a salad.  Maybe because it's got different fruit tossed in?

For lunch, I took out some frozen chicken tenders, cooked in air fryer.  Heated up some honey with tad bit of butter, added some pepper flakes.  Drizzled on my chicken, served with mashed redskins and kale.
Needless to say, I am more than full

For dessert was the blueberry salad. I had that before my lunch.  I don't like to take a chance that I may be too full to eat it, but that's just me.

Back to the garden

Hello there

Time to put away Easter decorations.  We had a wonderful Easter and hope everyone else did too.

We had ham, turkey breast, dressing, mashed redskins, Mac n cheese, Kale, Italian green beans,
potato salad, corn pudding, deviled eggs, rolls and honey butter basted cooked carrots.
Genevieve loves these carrots, so I fix them for her

I made for dessert a blueberry gelatin salad with grape Jello, crushed pineapple and canned blue berries.
The topping is cream cheese with sour cream whipped with sugar to sweeten then spread on top. brownies and tiny strawberry cupcakes from Publix

Girls' Easter baskets on steps so they would see them as soon as they come in back door.
I will be making them baskets for as long as I can.
11 and 13, where did the time go?

Sunday was so pretty and sunny, we spent most of our time out of doors.

Looking forward to all of my strawberries this season. I have them growing in pots, planters and in ground.

A picture I took earlier of side yard with azaleas transformed with (down below)

Before I go, these crispy dillies really are good on potato salad and Mac n cheese.

Today in the sunshine

Gorgeous day out getting things done like laying down more mulch and good dirt for some seeds.

The white Azaleas are more open and so bright and pretty

View from our upstairs bedroom window

Yes, I see it.  One egg is hanging lower than the other.  Will get it fixed now.

Just a few pictures today
Bye for now

Sunday post

Outside today in beautiful weather checking out the blooms on the dogwood trees and azaleas.

I like to be out among them as long as possible as the blooms do not last long.

Not all are blooming yet.  Some bloom later.  I need to replant some, as some have died. Some look brittle and unhealthy

The pink dogwood we had trimmed has bloomed nicely.  We removed four of them.  They were pretty but too tall and leggy.
The side of my house with a few that are looking leggy and brittle but still pretty.

Front yard dogwood.  I thought at one time it was lost due to what look like a disease.  It was trimmed back a lot and limbs taken off.  I put feed around it and now it looks great.

Our front door
a bunny and faux plant
I believe I am in the mood for painting front door green or lighter yellow.

I brought in some dogwood clippings

Some Azalea clippings for the table.
The little eggs are Papier Mache.  I did these a few years back on Styrofoam eggs.

My Chandy is filled with flowers of various kinds.  There is a strand of Pip Berries too.

Evening sky on the way out of our neighborhood

A ride into town of Ashland to get some things from the store.

Back at home a fire in the fireplace. We have had some chilly evenings.

Til next time
