A painted planter and early dinner.

I signed up at a local store for a craft project.  It was a little pot with the saucer to paint in Annie Sloan paints.  Decals of our choice to use on our pots and then finished it off with Annie Sloan wax.  It was so much fun.

The pots were already primed, so all we did was pick an over all color to use.

Mine is lavender.

I chose an Easter theme.

After rubbing on the decals, I applied the wax.
The more I buffed the wax after applying the more it brought out a sheen and it's waterproof.

we were given a hyacinth to place in the pot.

I brought it home and put in some moss I purchased from craft store
I kept the hyacinth in its regular plastic pot and just pushed the moss in and around it.
It scents up my entry way so nice.

I am going to make a few more now that I did this one.  I think a nice Easter gift it would make with a flower in it.

We had refreshments also.  Homemade scones.  The texture and flavor was perfect.
Cucumber sandwiches. Assorted fruit displayed so nicely.
Beautiful teacups in all shapes and sizes with a percolator that was used to keep water hot for the
many flavors of tea offered along with sugar cubes.

I purchased one of these slate trays at Christmas.
I didn't get a picture of the fruit that was served on one but here is one in the store that I got a picture of that is for sale set up so nicely.   The slate was taken from Victorian homes in Richmond or old vintage home, I forget how it was explained on the card and the hole is there in the slate where it was used to nail to the roof.  I like how the wooden handles have been attached to the sides to use.

I had to get a picture of the tray below because I think I will make me one.

So many nice and higher end crafts and vintage pieces in the store.
I am starting to love the painted furniture and may incorporate a few in my home.

Onto the next day and lunch at Islamorada restaurant in Bass Pro shops.  The food is top notch here as far as I am concerned.
We had a bowl of Clam chowder for starters.  It was so delicious.  Rich and thick.  I could taste the yummy cream. Loaded with clams and of course the potatoes in there made it all so good.
My meal was coconut shrimp, and these were huge.  I could only eat three and brought the rest home for the next day's lunch.

Steve had Panko fried shrimp. The fries were fried in Tallow, and the shrimp were fried just right.

I had iced tea and it's very rare I get a good glass of tea anywhere, but this was brewed so well and flavorful.  I like mine without sugar.

Oh I almost forgot our starter of a cup of clam chowder

I can say that there is no better chowder than this.

It was windy out and chilly but warm and cozy inside by the fireplace while having early dinner

Beautiful flag waving proudly.
