I love Fall y'all

I love Christmas but I want to enjoy every little bit of fall and Thanksgiving especially.

While in the process of wiping down my steps, I noticed how pretty the crepe was so I had to stop for a while and take a walk out.

Crepe Myrtle is showing off this year.  This was a couple days ago, most of the leaves have fallen.

Zinnias in back yard still going strong.
I planted these marigolds back in Spring and they look much more colorful now
French Marigold is my favorite and was in the same seed packet as the yellow above

Leaves still changing but not so much in far back yard but the those awful acorns have fallen and we will use several large Ace bags to get those up in.
Hard to walk on too.

That Crepe - love it.
Last of the Dahlias picked and brought in
I made some Autumn soup, I used one large butternut squash and two small pumpkins from my sisters garden.  I also add an apple to the soup, spices, cream and pepitas on top.  Had to have a salad to go with it.  Those grape tomatoes I am still picking form my plants in pots.

Less than two weeks ago we took a ride on Skyline Drive.  Gorgeous as always.

2,860 feet

Nice day trip and now ready for another.  One thing about where we live in Virginia, we are about two hours from the ocean and two from the mountains or little less, depending on where in the mountains we decide to travel to.
Bye for now 🍂🌄

Dearest Betsy,
Your Crepe Myrtles are indeed quite a showcase in the fall!
Enjoy it while it lasts.
Oh, acorns make you roll over the surface...
You Skyline Trip brought back fond memories for me from November 1, 2019!
So glad I managed to take my Pieter there.

Enjoy it for both of us—any time you manage to go back there!!!
Hugs,
Mariette

Hello Mariette, I sure will think of you and Pieter on my next trip back to traveling skyline drive. I will be later this evening looking at your trip to Shenandoah valley. I want to go back soon.
These acorns are no fun especially the few sprouting in the dirt. Hard to get up that way. Hugs, Betsy

That view out your front door is just beautiful! So much pretty color. I love that drive, too. It reminds me of a similar drive we took when in Lake George this summer. The views were stunning and your pictures reminded me of it. Of course, the leaves weren't changing and I think all that glorious color really makes such a difference!

My, this is one of the loveliest posts I've seen in a long time. I just wanted to be able to jump into your photos and enjoy the scenery in person. I love the bit of History too. Great job!

Betsy,
Thanks so much for stopping by!! The Crepe myrtle is gorgeous!! The colors of the leaves here in the Pocono's were really vibrant this year...All the leaves are off the trees here now and it will be in the 20's by the morning...We have had frost here a few times already so all the flowers bit the dust quite some time ago...
I want to be all decorated by Thanksgiving so i can sit back and enjoy December!!
Hugs,
Deb
