Easter 2022

We enjoyed Easter this year with my Mother, Son and his family and my sister and family. It was so good to have Mom here enjoying Easter with us, being with family is just what she needed.  She ate so well which surprised us as she hasn't had much of an appetite for months, probably due to inactivity and not enough fresh air. Being 100 and doing this well, all is good.

Baked ham, mac n cheese, baked beans, broccoli,  carrots, Brussel sprouts, potato salad, deviled eggs, spinach salad, creamed cauliflower with sundried tomatoes my sister brought and butter beans,

For dessert I made some bunny shaped cake with cream cheese frosting. I also made coconut bunnies, but I didn't get a picture.

Mamas favorite banana pudding.

making sure eggs are all found as we hid a lot

Your garden is a lovely Easter setting, Betsy! How wonderful to have your Mother for the day! Your grands are getting so tall and so grown up now. I enjoyed seeing your video of your home and garden. We are expecting a freeze tonight. I'm hoping it doesn't ruin all the blooms of Spring. Have a lovely week.

Dearest Betsy,
WOW, your garden was quite a showcase on Easter this year, what lovely azaleas.
We missed that in my blog post of this evening... as we could not visit the week prior due to tornado warnings and before that another cold spell.
So glad your Mom was able to come to your home; that sure did wet her appetite. So heartwarming to read that. We had a dear friend that used to come to our home for Thanksgiving and such and it felt so good when he too cleared his plate. It shows that LOVE, attention and food can change any person.
Fond memories and we never know what lies around the bend for next Easter season.
Hugs,
Mariette

Hello Mariette, Not knowing what will happen to any of us for next Easter is something several of us were talking about. Having Mom here smiling and enjoying the day with us was the best.
Love, attention and food is something Mom for two years hasn't had enough of. Hugs, Betsy

Thank you Denise, we are so fortunate to have had time together like this.

Betsy, the denial of LOVE, attention and food to many, through the tyranny of Covid, caused many lonely elderly to perish. An emotional worldwide genocide.

How right you are Mariette! We really do not know what went on during the time inside those nursing homes. Although a sister of mine constantly called and kept in touch with the director and got up dates on her care, how she was and a look at her medical records of all that is given her. She even took her out for second opinion on her health. Thankful for that. hugs, betsy
