Happy Sunday

Out early this morning with coffee.  Yesterday terribly muggy but have a few pictures from both days.

A look out of our office window this morning

I have more to cut and dry but first a few clippings from the French sorrel and curly kale for salad
A few sprigs of dill also for a macaroni  salad

Nice to have something pretty to see everyday.

These trees grow close to the little creek bed.  Not sure the name I have heard a wild magnolia.  Don't know.

I decided to put the hollyhock in a container this year and see if it will do better.  Begonias always come back with huge leaves.

A few tomatoes doing well I started from seed

    1. Yes indeed Cynthia, I did pick them. I had to pull the other bed of them up. I think the heat was bit much on those extremely hot and muggy days. I got some this year though.

  4. Your garden is doing so well, Betsy! Your lavender is gorgeous. It's a favorite of mine and I am so happy that mine did well this year. Today had lower humidity and enabled me to enjoy working outside. I must say the older I get the less I enjoy summer. Enjoy your lovely home and garden.

  7. Beautiful flowers! My rose bush seems to be dead, as does our patio peach. I guess our weather was too erratic.

  8. Dearest Betsy,
What a lovely post, even though I arrive here way too late.
Got working on the final chapters and yesterday shortly after 11:00 PM got the final one and the biggest one, done. Now we both are over one third through with proof reading it. Then I will upload and the graphic designer will add all Figures, Tables and upload it into a Pdf which we have to proof once again - final time! Will look forward to completing this. Your whit blossom is sure from a magnolia but don't know which one. Guess I have a book about magnolia species but no time now...
Hugs and happy weekend once again, time is flying!

  9. Ohh these plants are lovely!! I do have my flowers and a tiny vegetable garden and it helps me to feel sane. I really like lavender! I tried to grow it only once but it didn't do well for me. It was in a pot so maybe that was the issue. Take care!!
