Today is a beautiful sunny day. Breezy too. Love days like this.
A little catch up from last week, starting with the storm we had,
not too bad right at my home but the grand girls didn't leave school until 4:00 p.m.
Thursday due to tornado warnings. There was a cloud forming at the bus depot not far from their school but thankfully didn't touch down.
We had warnings to take shelter but I needed first a quick look outside.
listening for the sound of a train, but we live not so far from train tacks so that didn't really do any good. Anyhow all was well and there were a few touches down, but no one was hurt.
I found a recipe from elementary school days on Pinterest for pourable crust pizza. We used to have it with hamburger in the sauce with cheddar cheese on top (my favorite) or a white cheese. Sometimes with sausage sprinkled on the cheese. So good. They used to make all the food in those days and it was so much more tasty and better than the stuff they serve now.
Fudgies were a popular dessert. My school, Short Pump elementary had the best lunches for us in those days. Mom made them for us at home too.
Oatmeal, peanut butter sometimes was added, cocoa, butter and I don't have the recipe in front of me to remember the rest. Mostly on pizza day they were served. Will have to make some and post.
A fast dessert I threw together in prepared pie crust strawberry gel found in refrigerator section, fresh strawberries and blackberries. If I had anymore berries on hand I would have used those too.
I added a little flour and cinnamon to the mixture. popped in the oven.
I added more cinnamon on top afterward, that is what the brown powder is on top. We love cinnamon.
Got little too close with this one but here it is of what is left not eaten before I took a picture.
So far outside
Dogwood is starting to show color in front yard
Patio bunnies
I found these bunny pot stands at a place in the mountains few years ago for a dollar.
only bud on this white lilac that I moved a few months ago.
Ignore the fence. Haven't finished with it yet.
I know I am pushing my luck with this boxwood in this pot. It's been about 6 years now.
Strawberry bed did not have this many plants last year. They are growing out over the area around them. There are blooms on them today as this picture was taken a week ago.
Some things I picked up at a gift and vintage shop a few weeks ago
These little easter figures I have since placed on a little tree which I hope to share soon. I don't do a lot of decorating but some for the grandchildren.
spice pear butter and some cute little birds and prayer cards I keep on the table where we eat. I like reading one every day.
beautiful sky as we were heading out of our road for fish dinner at cracker barrel on Friday the 1st.
Some pictures of the past week to share on this very rainy Thursday
To start
Grand girls Cookie girl had to have a shampoo and cut last Saturday.
She loves the primping
Before
She is part sheep dog and poodle or a sheepadoodle
I managed to get the rest of the tulip bulbs planted as they all came up in the pots.
I was surprised and just about all have blooms
around the lamp post and around the tree bed I am still working on
I picked just one hyacinth and the scent filled air downstairs
I had moved many strawberry plants to pots last year and now I see the blooms in the pots
they are doing well
See that little tiny Iris? I found these at Walmart garden center for one dollar in pots with four and sometimes five in one pot. They are here around lamp post and some in pots at sidewalk.
In the town of Ashland Va is this carving from the tree a stately Eagle.
Very fine piece in the front yard of the home.

Happy Saturday. It's snowy here and 29 degrees. Supposed to drop lower tonight. It's pretty but so glad I got my plants in last night.
Some very little Iris I purchased along with tulips. I put them in the planter at front on sidewalk.
I will throw a few flower seeds in the dirt to have summer bloom and just leave the bulbs to die back where they are.
children were taken to the park by Opa in sunny weather day before the snow.
Looking forward to chive blossoms for more onion vinegar from them. I like mixing with a little olive oil for salad along with other spices
