Birthday

October 18 was my grand daughter Genevieve's birthday and the birthday of my sister Donna.
Sharing a few pictures of Genevieve's that was celebrated at the putt putt golf course in Glen Allen, Va.. Birthday princess had a wonderful time.   She had to go with her mom to pick out her own cake.  It was Sponge Bob (both girls love Sponge Bob).   Genevieve knew just where she wanted her party and helped Mom plan it.   She is a helper.

Oh yes,  we had to check out her boots.

Next up is sister Adalyn.  Sweet little girl she is in her little boots

A game off putt putt was played before subs and cake.

Sponge Bob cake

After subs and Genevieve finished her favorite tuna sub - time for cake.
Sister and two cousins patiently wait for the cake.

Baby alive is what she wanted and Mom and Dad granted her wish.
Took it home and their puppy named Star ate the carrier.  Baby Alive is fine and not touched.

Shenandoah valley

Before heading out to Quicksburg to Purchase Apples.  I took these pictures at the breakfast bar in the hotel we stayed.
I needed a picture because I want to decorate a few like this myself.

Our room at the Holiday Inn express was comfortable, very clean and decorated nicely to.

A picture of Russ who goes everywhere with us.

Back on the road and passing some old barns along the way

Leaves turning some.

Paughs orchard up ahead

A peck is $6.00 and a peck of golden delicious they had bagged was $4.50 a peck.  Cannot beat the prices here and the beauty that surrounds it.

two bags of apples

Through Shenandoah to take a look at Shrine Mont - Orkney Springs.   Hope to stay a few nights soon.. Nice quiet respite and Steve loves it here.

Making our way there are some pretty leaf colors

I posted this place a time back and here is the link where I posted a little history

Saturday Shopping 2017

Found a few things I didn't need at "Through the Garden Gate".
But fun to buy things we just want and one of those things was lunch.  They have a great lunch.

I had chicken salad croissant with tomato soup.

Steven enjoyed egg salad with crab chowder,  I believe it was.
He is going back next time for just the soup, it was so very good.

Free desserts today served at their Spring Sale.  I didn't get a picture, we just ate the carrot cake.

We have snacks sometime while watching t.v. and I found these for $8.00.  I remember Mom having some like this when we were younger

I found the holder for toast.  I always see it on this British program we watch and I wanted one.  I found it today.

Little cocktail forks too.

Finger puppets, so cute.

I didn't go outside to see the animals,  but Steve did.

Free pony rides for the children and from what I heard it was a good little ride.  I wish the children could have gone but they are getting over the flu.  Very high fevers and it took about four days to even start having any kind of appetite or even for Adalyn to be able to get back to school.  Yes, they had their flu shots.

She is forcing a smile, sweet thing.  Adalyn is just sitting in the chair dozing off and on.

this was at the YMCA before the flu hit them of course.

Till next time
