Beach in Winter

A week ago few days after our Anniversary, we stayed at Virginia beach.   Relaxing on the 8th floor, the ocean sounds were loud and clear.  I sleep so well when I hear the waves crash.
It was nice on the Thursday we went and people were in shorts,  the next day it was coats and hats.  The days go from warm to cold.
Sun shining bright right  before the Hampton Bridge Tunnel

Loved the comfortable suite we had

sunrise from my balcony

Wonderful view  later in the day

I like the wall treatment

In the lobby area are these painted mason jar lights

breakfast at the bistro downstairs

Mine was the plain yogurt with honey and fruit plus granola
Steve had french toast of banana bread, syrup, sliced bananas and walnuts.  The picture I took of his didn't turn out for some reason.

After breakfast,  a walk on the beach

A happy Valentines Day

Had a great day yesterday.  Their sweet mama brought the grands over and they brought these sweet cupcakes.  Genevieve made sure she let us know she made them.  She wanted to let us know also that  her mama put them in the box.  She said she is gonna be a baker one day and have a bakeshop..

Adalyn had a hand in it too.

She and Genevieve made us a heart shaped house.  so sweet.
A sweet valentine Adalyn made.

A sweet card from Steve and candy we will share.

And Roses

I got up early at 6 a.m. - left at 7 to get  Steve Dunkin donuts in heart shapes.   Apple and the other three were lemon filled. He enjoyed all 6.

Til next time

Supposed to be in the 30's tomorrow after being in the 60's today.  I hope it snows.

Happy Monday

At 5:30 this morning all is quiet.  I like the peace at this time of day.
Breakfast of oatmeal, walnuts, blueberries and raspberries.   Frozen fruit but still good.
A little nutmeg sprinkled on  frothed milk for my coffee.

Temps are warming gradually this morning

Will get outside and get some planting areas cleaned up a little.  I don't think this will last long.

might just order this magazine while I am sitting here.  Would love to have the shed on the cover.

Soup for the Bowl tonight

Husband wanted it while he watched the game.
I browned in flour the meat and then to the drippings I added merlot to burn off what was in the pan.  I like doing this as it gives a good flavor and the kids can eat it because the wine is burned off, after that a little water and added it to the pot of a can of mixed veggies plus a can of potatoes.  I didn't have a lot of time to make it all fresh as it was a last minute thing.

Good rich color I think.
noodles, bay leaf, basil, lil salt, tad bit of sugar, kidney beans, large jar of my daughters homemade tomato juice and my dried red and yellow tomatoes along with dried red peppers from my garden last year.

Oh, yes, oven baked cheese sandwich.  Buttered both sides the bread and lined my baking pan with parchment. It turned out very tasty with just a little crunch.
