Happy Sunday

Saturday rain.  As I was driving home from visiting sister and in 40 mph winds with rain coming down hard it was difficult to see.  I put my flashers on so others could see me because the lightning and thunder plus torrential down pour made visibility very bad.  Wind was bending trees.

My prayers answered and arrived safely home.

Coming into drive

We have had water all the way to the driveway.  Not this time and thankful for that.

short clip

Earlier a trip out to see Mom.
A picture of my 103-year-old Mom.  We visited before the storm hit. She loves to do word puzzles, and she won a game at bingo in which she picked out a prayer blanket.

Donated by as stated on card below
On our way home from seeing Mom earlier
Steve and I had pizza at GG's Pizza in Goochland Va.
Best I have had in a long time. We like going here for our pizza fix.
One half Italian sausage with tomatoes, other half was pepperoni with feta cheese

My Swamp Hibiscus is in bloom.  First thing I see when venturing out in the morning.

Crepe Myrtle is in bloom now

I want to share this mirror my sister made and is hanging in her bathroom over sink
in Maine.
She glued down individual dowels cut in random sizes on a piece of Luan plywood.
Then placed the mirror or maybe mirror was already glued down and hung over her sink. She spray painted the dowels gold color.
A lot of work she put in this.  Very pretty

This is it for today
Happy Sunday

  1. Two of my adult children and their families were coming home from vacation this weekend and ran into those rains. Fortunately they both found parking lots to pull over during the worst. Now I am hearing flood warnings across the country.

  2. It was horrific. I didn't pull off as there was no where to pull off. I couldn't see to pull off anyway so I just watched the edge of road and stayed in lane till I could see traffic light to turn to my road. Flashers were on. Good to hear your children pulled off and are safe. This crazy weather is hitting like crazy in so many places.
