lunch and a view

Steve and I headed out for an early dinner Saturday in Port Royal.   Stopped on the way at an antique shop and bought a few embroidered handkerchiefs for a buck a piece.   Will make a few lavender sachets with them.
Our usual stop is River Haven restaurant.  We like to have lunch here because of the great shrimp and the views of the water.
Appetizer as always

looking to the Belle Grove Plantation - birthplace of president James Madison

Reflections in the river

the trip home due west right into the sunset

Power lines - not so pretty

I'd gladly ignore the power lines to see a lovely sunset like that. Beautiful!

That looks like it was a fun time! Food and historic properties, a great combination!

Lovely pictures! Our Belle Grove in the Shenandoah is named after that Belle Grove. James Madison's sister lived at our Belle Grove.

Beautiful views, Virginia has such beautiful landscapes. I have a son that still lives there and I always enjoy traveling up there with all the rolling farmland.
