food and flowers

Warmer today.  I see the leaf buds on some of the trees.  Still winter and anything can change.

A few roses for Valentines Day

I must say I am a little tired of the sofa I have had since 2000.
I would like something else besides red.  Maybe more of a  modern streamlined sofa with a couple of swivel chairs at the picture window.  I can always dress up or down with a more modern style.

A dinner sent to us from Daughter in law Miranda
So very good and such a sweet surprise.  Especially since we are not getting out much.  I have not been cleared to drive yet since surgery, and I am ready to bust out.

real Italian food
The salad was loaded

I had chicken parmesan and Steve had Lasagna.  Didn't get a picture of his because he dug in way too fast.

To finish off we had lemon shortbread cookies.

I have been working on my beaded ship picture.  Not liking this one too much.  Still have to finish it though.

I am looking for a place to fix this Santa.  The battery compartment is corroded from being negligent in taking the batteries out for storage.  I wonder if it can be fixed to play music and move again?  Just had to put it out there.

Bye for now

Monks and some Ice

Leaving Physical Therapy today we got a glimpse of the Monks making their way into Ashland Va.  Earlier in their journey in Dayton Texas, two Monks were injured when a car hit them resulting in one having leg amputated. He is recuperating.

They along their way are stopping at state capitals, historic landmarks and communities sharing their message of reflection.  A 2300 mile walk thru Ashland with a rest stop at Randolph Macon Campus.

Some snow pictures
Granddaughters helping shovel ice from porch door along with Opa

Looks like Phil the large ground hog saw his shadow which in Pennsylvania could be six more weeks of bad weather for them.  Not sure if a groundhog saw a shadow in my state.  I say we will probably have six more weeks of bad weather here anyway.

Genevieve had to get the old sleigh out and slide down to creek on ice

Bye for now
