sycamore tavern

Sunday ride through the country made us stop again to check out this pretty old Tavern and the herb garden that I like the layout of so much in back.   Good ideas to be had for this one.

this little birdhouse on post to entrance of garden

A walk in the opposite direction to the arbor at the entrance of old school,  I notice that it  is made from two old doors.
What a neat idea.

Happy Sunday

  1. Very nice. And I love the stately trees - they've witnessed a lot through the years, haven't they?

  6. Hi Betsy, what a wonderful tree! It's HUGE! I like the house too, and the layout of the garden with the rock paths. I'm always looking for ideas for my backyard, that don't require even more mulch! Thanks for sharing your outing with us!

    1. Me too Gina , tired of mulching. Simple pathways with aromatic herbs are what I like.

  7. Great post, Betsy! I absolutely love the look of that tavern; it has the look of old English, as well as colonial/early American. I'd love to visit sometime. Can you go inside? The herb gardens are charming, and that arbor is wonderful -- such a clever idea.

Thanks for sharing with us and have a great weekend!
