West Virginia visit 2

Some more pictures from our visit to my daughters farm.     Have to show some animals living there at the moment.   Her garden did pretty well this year with some HUGE sweet potatoes.

Super sweet too.

Below are just a few more beautiful scenery pictures on the way to her home

followed this river and I should know the name- but I don't

What pretty scenery

this one was rather feisty

Below are their Jerusalem donkeys
so sweet and good natured , so named because of the cross on their back. Legend has it that this mark was earned after the first Palm Sunday when christ rode on one into Jerusalem.  The reality of it's origin is that it's a remnant of it's African ancestry.
I was surprised to learn a donkey can easily live thirty years and beyond that for some.

They love the attention and get plenty of it.

yep, the pigs love their mud

  1. Goodmorning Betsy! What a pretty drive! And what huge sweet potatoes, I wonder what the World record is for one? Cool story about the donkeys too, they are so cute and I always love that Palm Sunday story about Jesus riding a donkey into Jerusalem and everyone shouting, "Hosanna, Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!"
    Have a great day!

  2. Hi Betsy,
That's the Greenbrier River. My family had a camp on Greenbrier but it was many moons ago!
I love your daughter's farm and there is nothing like raising and caring for farm animals. West Virginia is the perfect spot for farming.
